Grammy-nominated Yonder Mountain String Band has never chased trends or followed a formula. For 27 years, they’ve made music on their own terms—shaping a sound and a legacy driven by instinct, built on chemistry, and rooted in something real. Their influence helped steer progressive bluegrass into new territory, creating space for two of the most visible and enduring sub-genres in American roots music.
Nearly three decades in, Yonder continues to find inspiration in the music, the road, and the connection that started it all. Early 2026 will see the release of their twelfth studio album Good As True (2026), recorded live in the studio and built around a collection of all-new original songs. The tracks move with the full spectrum Yonder has always embraced—from hard-driving moments to songs that lean toward folk, rock, and indie influences—while carving out a sound that feels unmistakably their own.
Later in the year, they’ll revisit a defining moment from their early years with the first-ever vinyl pressing of Mountain Tracks, Vol. 3 (2004), recorded live in 2003 at their Kinfolk Celebration at Planet Bluegrass in Colorado. Marking the album’s 20th anniversary—two years late but perfectly timed—the release celebrates Yonder’s deep roots, enduring spirit, and lasting connection to Colorado, where their journey began and where they’ve since been honored with induction into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame.
Yonder Mountain String Band’s story is still being written on stage, in song, and in the shared moments that keep their music alive.
