2012 Ogden Music Festival

As singer/songwriter Robert Earl Keen has built a reputation as one of the nation’s finest musical storytellers, he has been guided by several self-imposed rules and traditions that are often the antithesis of music industry standards.

Joining us for a second time on the Ogden Music Festival stage and long recognized and praised as a creative force in acoustic music, Claire Lynch is a pioneer who continually pushes the boundaries of the bluegrass genre. The current Claire Lynch Band is a powerful juggernaut, a quartet that has the innate ability to perfectly interpret the beauty, subtlety, and genre-defying sophistication of Claire's music.

"Rootsy, southern-fried blues doesn't come much more boggy than Swamp Cabbage." Jon Sobel - BlogCritics.org

Founded by Jacksonville Florida native Walter Parks, Swamp Cabbage presents a three piece soundtrack to a voyage through Northeast Florida palmetto thickets and Southeast Georgia gator marshes. Swamp Cabbage is true Americana roots music.

Junior Sisk has lived most of his life in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia where he listened to and played the music that was born in the hills of his home state. His songwriting helped The Lonesome River Band in its ascent to bluegrass stardom in the early 1990’s.

Young in age and conception, Elephant Revival carries a fresh sense of creativity and inspiration that is felt by people of every generation. The neo-acoustic quintet is on the cutting edge of an emerging new genre that is known as 'Transcendental Folk.'

"With a haunting voice that treads soul and country and can only be described as a cosmic americana, Zoe Muth delivers songs that sound like vintage country classics." - Twangville

Whether nailing an upbeat honky-tonk tune or a slow, sad story-song, Zoe Muth's music is so honest and familiar, you'll wonder why you haven't heard it yet.

The Get Down Boys, "...a fine, new, youthful quartet of Los Angeles-based musicians." (-California Bluegrass Association), are a string band who perform traditional bluegrass & other modern styles at clubs and special events.

The Blue Sage Band is a high energy acoustic ensemble who bring to the stage a unique and exciting blend of bluegrass, folk, rock, and americana.

The Red Rock Hot Club is recognized as one of the top American Gypsy Jazz Ensembles. Founded in 1999, and led by the swinging guitar styling’s of Rich D’aigle, the group specializes in Gypsy Jazz; a European take of an American Art form. With the added help of Pat and Scott Terry, on guitar and bass, the core of the hot club delivers the sound of Paris (ala 1937), spot on, all the while making it fun and informative.

Jake and Rebekah Workman, from Draper, Utah, bring a fresh Bluegrass duo sound to the stage with clean, toneful instrumentals and powerful vocal harmony.

Bill Vernieu and Joanna Joseph both have unadorned singing styles that convey the simple-and-true, and make for great harmonies. On the other hand, Joanna's soothing tones contrast well with Bill's high-voltage energy. The result is an engaging combination.
